George Friberg

George FribergGeorge Friberg is the senior director at Technology Ventures Corporation, a not-for-profit arm of Lockheed Martin founded to promote new business commercialization of technology. Mr. Friberg is former president and CEO of Tetra Corporation, New Mexico Technet, and Laguna Industries, Inc. He began his career with Honeywell but spent a large part of his career at Gulton Industries specializing in space electronics. He is past president of the UNM Alumni Association and chairman of the board of the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. His has served on numerous boards including Samaritan Counseling Foundation, Noonday Inc., and the Golden Apple Foundation.  George is the recipient of the UNM Zia Award, the Regents Medal and the Erna Ferguson Award. He has been inducted into the UNM Anderson Schools Hall of Fame and the UNM Athletic Hall of Honor. Mr. Friberg was a UNM athlete and football team captain. He holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and a master’s in business administration from UNM.
