Newborn babies in the UNM Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will be warmer this winter thanks to a gift of seven handmade quilts recently received at the UNM Foundation. The quilts were made and donated by inmates of the Lea County Correctional Facility. NM Secretary of Corrections Gregg Marcantel arranged for delivery of the quilts by (left to right) his mother-in-law, Glenda Hickman, and her granddaughters Jordan and Caitlin Barnard. Hazel Tull-Leach, Senior Development Officer, UNM Hospitals (far right), gratefully accepted the quilts on behalf of the patients.
