UNMF Research Training Videos Still Available on SharePoint

Editor’s note: You may remember receiving an e-mail in December from Director of Prospect Management and Research Trish Idarola regarding the training videos that she and her team created for DOs. The information below is provided as a reminder that these videos are still available on SharePoint.

The Prospect Development Team has produced a series of training videos based on the two trainings presented to the Fundraising Team in 2016. The first training session in January covered Prospect Management and Clearance instructions in Advance and the second training in November covered Data and Pipeline Development. All DOs have received training documents for the material covered in those training sessions and now have access to supplemental training videos to help provide them with further support. All videos are available through SharePoint and may be accessed through here.

The training videos include the following topics:

Prospect and Portfolio Management Trainings:

· How to Enter a Prospect Clearance Request for Assignment
· How to Enter a Solicitation Clearance Request
· How to Update a Proposal Record
· How to Update a Prospect Stage from the Prospect Overview Page

Proactive Prospecting and Research Request Trainings:

· How to Use UNMF Lookup for Suspects
· How to use Advance Lookups and Clipboards in Advance
· How to Perform an Email Domain Lookup
· How to Run a Trip Profile Report from Entity Overview Page
· How to Enter a Research Request
· How to Request a Prospect Pool Review
· How to Request a Trip Report

Monthly “Round of Appaws” Winners Announced

Our Round of Appaws staff recognition program is still going!

Out of the staff members who were acknowledged this past month, one name was randomly drawn by UNM Human Resources at the beginning of March—and the winner is Yolanda Dominguez! Congrats to Yolanda, who received a gift card.

In addition, at the All Staff Meeting on Feb. 22, three names were randomly drawn from among those recognized during the previous three months, and the winners were Jared Stone, Margaret Ortega and Denise Codding. Each received a $20 gift card. Congrats to all!

As you have seen, the “Round of Appaws” boards are located in both the upstairs and downstairs lobbies at 700 Lomas. For our staff working outside of 700 Lomas, you can download the electronic form from SharePoint and submit your praise for a staff member who has been exceptional. Please send completed electronic forms to Gretchen Doyle at Gretchen.Doyle@unmfund.org.*

Why participate? This is a way to acknowledge our co-workers who are doing great work. We encourage any and all staff members to take a moment to celebrate and thank a co-worker for what they are doing! Many people ask, “What activities are acknowledged?” Maybe someone pitched in on a big project and it made the difference in accomplishing the task; perhaps someone put in extra effort to meet a deadline; or possibly a co-worker stepped in to complete something that was outside his or her usual activities. You know who these amazing people are! Help us celebrate our amazing, talented, and dedicated staff by giving them a thank you!

With so many ways to thank someone there is no shortage of “appaws”! Please “paws” and give thanks to a co-worker – he or she just might win a gift certificate next month!

Please note, the best way to access SharePoint is using Internet Explorer. You will need to provide your username and password that you use to log into your email account.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

In February 2000, President Bill Clinton officially dedicated March as National Colon Cancer Awareness Month. Since then, it has grown to be a rallying point for the colon cancer community where thousands of patients, survivors, caregivers and advocates throughout the country join together to spread colon cancer awareness by wearing blue, holding fund-raising and education events, talking to friends and family about screening and so much more.

Here’s what you can do to learn more and get involved:

•    Wear blue on March 3.
•    Cancer 101:  Get the facts to learn more about colon cancer, how screening saves lives, and what you can do to reduce your risk.
•    Enter the Get Blued photo contest.
