Feeding Hope at UNM Children’s Hospital
At UNM Children’s Hospital patients and their families are provided patient-family centered care which includes caring for the entire family. Sixty percent of our patient population is on Medicaid and many caregivers choosing to stay bedside with their child have to forgo eating a nutritious or warm meal. The Feeding Hope at UNM Children’s Hospital Fund provides caregivers with a meal or a meal ticket to ensure parents or caregivers are able to eat a nutritious meal while staying to support their child during their hospitalization. This fund also provides meals for a breast feeding mothers with a newborn in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
