HSLIC Healing Garden Fund

For over 40 years, a canopy of flowering mimosa trees has lined the entrance to the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center, providing shade over the benches and bike racks in front of the building. They also provided a green landscape out the upper floor windows for library users peering over their laptops and books.

Over the past several years, many of these trees have died due to age, disease, irrigation issues, and ongoing drought, leaving the front of the building vacant and unlandscaped.

The HSLIC Healing Garden Fund was established in 2021 to design and install new landscaping in front of the library building. Contributions to this fund will go to new plants, trees, irrigation, and hardscape to enhance the entrance with plantings related to the health sciences and new trees to shade the seating areas in front of the building.
