NMNEC Nurse Educator Endowment – in Honor of Nancy Morton (sponsored by Karen Brown)

Nancy Morton, RN, CCRN, MSN (L), joined the UNM College of Nursing (CON) in Fall 1994. While there, she served as Level Coordinator, Undergraduate Committee Chair, and Undergraduate Program Director. She also participated in and chaired the clinical and curricular design committees for the statewide New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium (NMNEC) and worked tirelessly to implement the curriculum. Nancy retired in December 2017.
This fund supports nurse educators involved with NMNEC, travel costs associated with attending NMNEC workshops, and nurses enrolled in the UNM MSN-Education program who are committed to teaching in the NMNEC system.
Karen Brown, PhD, RN, CNE ( R ) (UNM CON faculty, retired 2020), initiated this endowment in Nancy’s honor to ensure her legacy and quality preparation for nurse educators in New Mexico.
