Professor Dick Dove Fellowship

Professor Dick Dove Fellowship

The former students and faculty colleagues of the late Mechanical Engineering Professor Richard Dove are establishing an endowed fellowship in his name.  Jack Little, a 1958 ME graduate from Farmington, New Mexico is leading the effort.

“Fortunately, before his death in 2011, I was able to communicate to Professor Dove (through his children) that we are setting up a graduate fellowship in the ME Department in his name,” Jack Little said.  “Honoring a great teacher is a very worthwhile cause.” Dick Dove was Chair of ME from 1963-68 and then Dean of the School from 1968-1974. Dick Dove focused his research on experimental stress analysis. In addition to directing numerous research projects, he was director of the USAF Civil Engineering Research Laboratory.
