Vice President of University Development: Larry Ryan oversees advancement and development efforts for academics and athletics with a focus on Changing Worlds: The Campaign for UNM and all major gifts fundraising for the University of New Mexico. Mr. Ryan led the UNM Athletics fundraising program from early 2005 until May 2011 under UNM Athletics Director Rudy Davalos and Vice President Paul Krebs. Mr. Ryan initially returned to UNM in 2005 after having spent the previous three years as the senior associate director of athletics at the University of Evansville in Indiana. He was the UNM Lobo Club’s director of annual giving from 2000-02 during which he directed all aspects of the annual Lobo Club membership drive. At Evansville, Mr. Ryan was involved in all day-to-day operations of the UE athletics department. He directed the areas of development, corporate sales, and ticketing.
Mr. Ryan is a 1997 graduate of California State University San Bernardino, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. He served one year following graduation as director of media, public relations, and as corporate marketing manager for the Lake Elsinore Storm baseball team, a Class A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. He then returned to his alma mater in 1998, first as marketing and promotions assistant for athletics, then as director of development.
Mr. Ryan and his wife Miriam reside in Southeast Albuquerque with their two children.
