The Department of Art at UNM and the College Art Association

The College Art Association’s Annual Conference is a national gathering of art historians, artists, and art educators.

Dozens of panels bring hundreds of scholars together to discuss a wide variety of topics in the field. It is a central event for emerging scholars (graduate students) to network with future colleagues and hear the most current research presented by preeminent scholars in the field.

The Department of Art at UNM is excited to hold a reception for Alumni and Friends at the 2024 CAA conference in Chicago. To allow as many of our advanced graduate students to attend, we are seeking donations to cover their cost of registration and travel. Please help us support this opportunity for our students to engage with the rich dialogue about art at this national conference!

“Attending conferences as a graduate student was critical to my professional development. It allowed me to keep abreast of the latest scholarship in my field, gain feedback on research from a broad audience, network with colleagues, and learn about upcoming career opportunities.” Dr. Laura Golobish, graduated 2022, Assistant Teaching Professor of Art History, Ball State University.
