Grantsmanship training studentUNM Foundation to Host Grantsmanship Course for Nonprofit and Government Grantseekers

Nonprofit and government grantseekers can learn proven grantsmanship techniques at a workshop to be held in Albuquerque February 13-17, 2012. UNM Foundation will host an intensive, five-day, hands-on workshop for nonprofit and government grantseekers that will take participants step by step through all stages of planning programs, researching funding sources and writing proposals. The course will be conducted by The Grantsmanship Center,  the world’s largest grantsmanship training organization for nonprofits.

“Designed for both novice and experienced grant seekers, the workshops will cover all aspects of searching for grants, writing grant proposals, and strategies for securing government and foundation grants and corporate contributions,” said UNM Foundation’s Betsy Till, Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.

To ensure personal attention, registration is limited to 30 participants. Tuition for this training program is $895 ($845 for each additional registration from the same organization). A limited number of partial scholarships are available for qualified agencies.

To register for the Grantsmanship Training Program, to get more information, or to apply for a partial scholarship, contact The Grantsmanship Center at (800) 421-9512 or www.tgci.com.

Babies in UNM Children’s Hospital Receive Handmade Quilts from Lea County Inmates

Handmade Quilts from Lea County Inmates

Newborn babies in the UNM Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will be warmer this winter thanks to a gift of seven handmade quilts recently received at the UNM Foundation. The quilts were made and donated by inmates of the Lea County Correctional Facility. NM Secretary of Corrections Gregg Marcantel arranged for delivery of the quilts by (left to right) his mother-in-law, Glenda Hickman, and her granddaughters Jordan and Caitlin Barnard. Hazel Tull-Leach, Senior Development Officer, UNM Hospitals (far right), gratefully accepted the quilts on behalf of the patients.
