Per The University of New Mexico Business Policy 1030, the Foundation accepts gifts for all colleges and units comprising UNM. Gifts designated for KUNM, KNME or Lobo Athletics should be directed appropriately to those units.  All gifts and non-cash gifts (also known as in-kind or reported gifts, e.g., gift certificates for a silent auction, laboratory equipment, costumes for the Theatre Department, toys for the Children’s Hospital) donated for the benefit of UNM must comply with applicable tax laws and be processed through The UNM Foundation’s Gift Administration Department. Once UNMF has accepted the gift, it becomes the property of UNMF and UNM, and the donor has no direct decision-making power regarding the gift.

Each gift category is processed using a different form.  Gifts received at UNMF without appropriate forms or equivalent information will not be accepted. Please reconcile and balance gift transactions with the Transmittal Form.  All gifts and forms must be delivered to the UNM Foundation for processing.

Non-cash gifts, also known as in-kind or reported gifts (e.g., gift certificates for a silent auction, costumes for the Theatre Department, toys for the Children’s Hospital) should be reported to the Foundation.

For any questions about how to determine what is a gift, and how it should be delivered or reported to the UNM Foundation, please contact:
