Jeff Todd

President and CEO, UNM Foundation

Jeff Todd has served as President and CEO of the University of New Mexico Foundation since 2019, working in close alignment with an engaged and highly supportive Board of Trustees and guiding a dedicated and talented professional team committed to expanding the role of philanthropy in transforming lives across New Mexico. With four decades of experience in higher education advancement, Jeff has championed a deeper, more strategic alignment between the University and its philanthropic mission, anchoring the Foundation’s work in student success, research, health care, and economic impact.

As part of UNM President Garnett Stokes’ senior leadership team, Jeff has helped shape UNM 2040, the long-term vision for the University’s future. He has worked closely with colleagues across the Foundation and University to integrate philanthropy into that roadmap, not as an afterthought but as a fundamental engine for progress. This collaborative work has laid the Foundation for the University’s next comprehensive campaign. Under Jeff’s leadership, the Foundation’s performance has been strong and sustained, with average annual fundraising growing from a three-year average of $93 million to more than $120 million—a reflection of a team deeply aligned around mission, accountability, and results.

Before joining UNM, Jeff served as Associate Vice President of Alumni and Executive Director of Alumni UBC at The University of British Columbia. He co-directed UBC’s start an evolution campaign—the largest fundraising and alumni engagement initiative in Canadian history at its launch. Later, as UBC’s Interim Vice President of Development and Alumni Engagement, he helped chart the next phase of philanthropic growth, building momentum for the University’s future.  His advancement experience also includes service to Oregon State University, the University of Arizona, and his alma mater, The College of Wooster, where he started his career in advancement.

Jeff has served on the boards of CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education), CCAE (Council of Alumni Association Executives), and CAAE (Canadian Council for Advancement of Education), which he also chaired. He remains active with CASE and the Association of Governing Boards (AGB).
